Filtration for Beccles Lido

The community open-air swimming pool in Beccles was built in 1959. The filtration system was installed in 1975. It was refurbished in 2011, after Beccles Lido Limited acquired the pool from Waveney District Council, after they closed the pool in 2008. It doesn’t have an indefinite life. While water quality is currently acceptable, any deterioration/system failure would result in censure of the pool and ultimately closure.
A feasibility study conducted in early 2024 identified 3 acceptable options:
1) Refurbish existing tanks, refill with new media
2) Dismantle existing, build new
3) Replace with microfiltration
Option 1 kicks the can down the road and, having secured funding, we have decided that we should replace the system before the end of 2025.
While option 2 is acceptable, our initial research favours option 3 as the most sustainable and efficient (as specified by the Passive House Institute, to meet their certification on swimming pool projects, and as encouraged by Swim England).
We are inviting suppliers to propose a microfiltration system, but will also consider proposals for alternative filtration systems if a good argument can be put forward for why the solution is preferable.
If you would like to receive our Invitation to Tender, which will be published week commencing 13 January, please submit your expression of interest and why you think that your solution would be right for Beccles Lido to

The deadline for ITT responses will be 31 January at the latest, but earlier if possible.
We expect to select our preferred supplier by mid-February and to place an order by end-February or as soon as possible in March. We require the new system to be installed before 28 November 2025, with our preferred installation period end-September/October/November 2025.
Suppliers should explicitly state their ability to meet the above timeline.
